There has been a lot of great new music released over the last few weeks. You can find out what was released this weekend in our New Music Report, but take a look at what we've been listening to lately. Our editors Nicole, James, and Isha have shared some of their Expert Picks for the week. Check it out below.
Cheat Codes featuring Nicky Romero - "Sober"
Cheat Codes is becoming one of my favorite new artists. They won me over with their remake of Kevin Lyttle's "Turn Me On," then solidifying my fandom after teaming up with Demi Lovato on "No Promises." For their latest single, the group has teamed up with EDM producer/DJ Nicky Romero on "Sober," and welcome to your new heartbreak anthem. Ever hear the phrase "Drunk words mean sober thoughts?" That's this song. The lyrics tell the story of someone expressing their true feelings after a breakup, having had a few too many glasses a vino/shots/cocktails/whatever your poison. A female vocalist sings over a subdued rhythm, "I wouldn't say it sober/But the truth is coming out/I didn't miss you until now, until now/In my right mind, it's over/But the drinks are talking loud."
Ugh, my heart 💔😭 But very excited to see Cheat Codes do their thing this September in Las Vegas at the Daytime Village at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs David Guetta featuring Kiiara - "Complicated"
Speaking of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, I'm excited to see David Guetta, especially after hearing this new collab. The French producer/DJ has teamed up with Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike AND Kiiara on their new single "Complicated." I'm a fan of all three artists so I knew I'd love this. This melody is so addictive, you can't help but sing along. And the lyrics?! One of the best parts of this song. "We can keep it simple, baby/Let's not make it complicated/Labels are so overrated/Let's not make it complicated." Talk about "KISS -- Keep it simple, stupid."👌🏼

Charli XCX - "Boys"
Charli XCX ups the thirst trap ante with her new single, "Boys," and accompanying video, which dropped last Wednesday (July 25). Oh, and it features a string of famous boys, including Diplo, Joe Jonas, Brendon Urie, to name a few. In the almost-three minute visual, which she co-directed alongside Sarah McColgan, the 24-year-old pop star gathers a number of popular boys to strip down, look sexy and just be, well, boys in front of the camera. It's a minimal effort, with plenty of pink hues and VHS effects, but, let's face it, it works oh so well because of the familiar faces. Among the other stars in the clip include Charlie Puth, D.R.A.M., Flume, G-Eazy, Jack Antonoff, KAYTRANADA, Khalid, Mark Ronson, MNEK, and more.
Haim - "That Don't Impress Me Much" (Shania Twain cover)
HAIM and Shania Twain don't really seem like a match made in heaven, but the alt pop trio’s new cover of the country titan's single might disprove that idea. On Thursday (July 27), the singing siblings took to Australian radio station triple j's Like A Version segment to bust out a rendition of the classic and, boy, is it a solid listen. During the five-minute rendition, Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim take a stab at the classic, offering up their own twist to the 1998 number. "I think that's one of the boxes that you have to tick if you want to date any of us," Esta said. "You have to be a Shania Twain fan. You heard it here first. Sorry, world!"

A1 featuring Chris Brown & Ty Dolla $ign - "Always"
A1 has been doing his thing in the music industry for a hot minute. Now, the producer ready to give us some more bangers, including his one entitled “Always.” The smooth R&B song features longtime friend Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign. The Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star really outdid himself with this one. We haven’t been able to stop playing this track, even since we played it for the very first time. It’s a ode to a special someone who’s always on the producer’s singers’ minds… without a doubt, that would be singer/songwriter Lyrica for A1, who’s his wife.
D.R.A.M. featuring Cardi B - "Cute (Remix)"
D.R.A.M. called on Cardi B is assist with his "Cute (Remix)" and our ears aren't mad at the new spin on the track. D.R.A.M. is currently opening for Kendrick Lamar on the DAMN. Tour, along with Travis Scott. However, that didn't stop the artist from releasing some new music. The original "Cute" was featured on his debut album, Big Baby D.R.A.M., which was released on October 21, 2016.
It looks like D.R.A.M. wanted to add a little something extra to the track. So, that's why he called on the former Love & Hip Hop star to lay some of her classic bars on the beat. "You think I’m cute, but I think you ugly/ Trust me it’s cool, I use you for money," Cardi spits. "I’m a dog I don’t come with no leash/ This b**ch is ballin' just look at my piece/ Whippin' the foreign, I’m bending these streets.”
